LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — More than 150 local villagers received medical and dental treatment near here today as part of a medical civil assistance program coordinated by the 13th Corps Support Command.

Doctors, dentists and other medical providers from the 118th Area Support Medical Battalion, Connecticut National Guard, the 81st Brigade Combat Team, Washington State National Guard and the Germany-based 501st Military Intelligence Battalion spent three hours in Al-Fadouz taking care of everything from treating back pain to pulling teeth.

Soldiers also showed villagers proper dental care while handing out toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and other basic home healthcare items.

The 81st BCT provided security for the mission while the 13th COSCOM civil affairs team supplied interpreters and coordinated with village leaders.

13th COSCOM has coordinated and funded over $1.7M in improvements to local schools, clinics and infrastructure since January.
