LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — 13th COSCOM soldiers teamed with Iraqi security forces and other Multi-National Force-Iraq partners to convoy new Iraqi Army vehicles from Jordan to Taji in a mission completed July 27.

Members of the 172nd Corps Support Group from Broken Arrow, Okla. and the 593rd Corps Support Group from Fort Lewis, Wash. provided heavy equipment transport vehicles, escorts and other logistical support to the six-day mission.

The 49th Movement Control Battalion, from Fort Hood, Texas ensured routes were properly planned and regulated.

Multi-National Corps-Iraq aviation assets, the First Cavalry Division and the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force also supported the movement.

Obtaining the armored personnel carriers and associated military equipment was an Iraqi Government initiative. The Interim Iraqi Government requested Multi-National Force support with capabilities Iraqi security forces do not yet have.

The delivery was a success representing the continuing growth and development of the Iraqi government and of a free and democratic Iraq for the Iraqi people.
