Special Troops Battalion Soldiers receive combat patch


LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — Soldiers from the 13th COSCOM Special Troops Battalion were presented with the shoulder-sleeve insignia for former wartime service in a ceremony here today.

Lt. Col. Terrance Hildner, the STB Bn. Commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Patterson, the battalion's command sergeant major, presented the combat patches to each individual Soldier.

Hildner addressed the battalion and told the Soldiers he was proud of their hard work and dedication during the past six months. Since January, the Soldiers of the STB have distributed 7 million gallons of water, issued 300,000 gallons of fuel, processed more than 60,000 Soldiers at the personnel processing center and provided convoy escort support for more than 450 convoys traveling over 75,000 miles throughout Iraq.

The Special Troops Battalion, from Fort Hood, Texas, is a multi-component battalion and has Soldiers from the both the Active and Reserve components.
