SMA Visits LSA


LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — The Sergeant Major of the Army arrived here August 15 for a series of meetings with Anaconda sergeants major and a town hall meeting with junior noncommissioned officers and Soldiers.

Sgt. Maj. of the Army Kenneth O. Preston took a windshield tour of the post, met with leaders to discuss combat logistics patrols, toured the Joint Defense Operation Center and held a town hall meeting where he discussed upcoming changes in unit structure and also displayed the new Army Combat Uniform before heading to a luncheon with senior NCOs.

Soldiers expressed a better understanding of the Army's current direction after hearing the SMA's remarks.

Preston also emphasized the warrior ethos and distributed dog tags containing the printed ethos to several Soldiers who recited the Soldiers Creed at the town hall meeting.
