NJ Merchant Takes Care of Garden State Soldiers

LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — Thirty New Jersey soldiers will be able to brew a taste of home here thanks to a local retailer who happened to be listening to the radio Nov. 11.

Members of the 50th Finance Battalion, New Jersey Army National Guard recently received large boxes filled with bags of coffee from a popular donut chain.

Soldiers from the battalion participated from Iraq in a Veteran's Day radio special with NJ 101.5's Mary Walters.

Members of the battalion mentioned the coffee when asked what they missed most about NJ and the station arranged for the shipment. The 50th Finance Battalion is responsible for the theater finance facility here, they expect to redeploy around the end of January.
