The 13th Corps Support Command command sergeant major presented COSCOM Operation Iraqi Freedom prints to Dell Computer Corporation in a ceremony in the COSCOM conference room here June 15.

Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel K. Elder presented the prints to Dell representatives Scott Morris, Dell accountant executive, and Brent Campbell, Dell systems controller, in a gesture of gratitude for Dell's recent monetary contribution for the COSCOM's Bluebonnet Ball.

Dell was a gracious sponsor, helping to cut costs so that every COSCOM Soldier would have the opportunity to attend the Ball, which was held in April as a welcome-home for those who recently redeployed from Iraq, said Elder.

Originally, the price to attend the Ball may have been more than many Soldiers and their families could afford. With Dell's support, however, costs were defrayed enough that Soldiers could not only attend, but they could afford to buy an appropriate outfit and 'get their hair done,' said Elder.

It was one way Dell Corp. could give back to the Army - and the COSCOM in particular, Morris said. For six years, Morris has worked with the COSCOM and has developed positive working relations.

"[COSCOM is] a fantastic customer. I've established great relationships [among COSCOM personnel]," Morris continued.

When asked to help with the Ball, Morris said he was more than happy to do so. He procured funds and helped defer costs of catering.

Now it is the COSCOM's turn to give back. Brig. Gen. James E. Chambers, commanding general of the COSCOM, and Elder signed the prints which show functions of the COSCOM through art.

Morris said the first print will go to Dell's office of the chairman - Michael Dell.
