The 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) accepted delivery and placed into operation a Voice, Video, and Data Network Operations (NETOPS) Shelter from Azbell Electronics May 10, in a short ceremony outside the SC(E) G-6 Annex building on Santa Fe Road.

Col. Christine Gayagas, deputy commanding officer of the SC(E), received the key to the NETOPS Shelter from Billy Azbell, owner and president of Azbell Electronics, the company who put the NETOPS Shelter together.

According to a press release issued by Azbell Electronics, "The NETOPS shelter enhances the ability of the 13th SC(E) to deploy and rapidly establish command and control voice, video and data network systems.

"It houses critical Information Systems and contributes to the 13th SC(E)'s ability to maintain information superiority, provide information management, establish a common operating picture, and enhance situational awareness.

"The NETOPS shelter is designed and engineered to exceed the rigorous standards required to support early-entry command post, tactical command post, and main command post operations."

"Our customers demand transportable systems that can be placed into operation in a short period of time with minimum configuration after arrival on station. This system eliminates the need to build internal cabling and enables the unit to establish the voice, video, and data NETOPS Center in 45 minutes or less from the time of arrival," said Azbell.
