Special Troops Battalion Change of Command Ceremony

Lieutenant Colonel Terence J. Hildner is scheduled to assume command of the STB from LTC Kevin D. Aven on 12 December 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Sadowski Field III CORPS Fort Hood, Texas.

The doctrinal mission of the STB is to deploy on order and provide life support commodities to the COSCOM and the rear elements of a corps staff. Commissioned in 1984 from the University of Notre Dame, LTC Hildner entered military service as an Armor officer. After his initial assignments and following completion of the Armor Advance Course, along with Command and General Staff College in 1997, LTC Hildner was reassigned to Joint Task Force Six in June 1999.

LTC Hildner worked as an operational logistics planner and ultimately became the Director of Logistics in December 2000. While serving in these positions within the Task Force, LTC Hildner was responsible for the logistical planning and execution of more than 250 counter-drug operations across the breadth of the United States.

LTC Hildner's decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4th OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2nd OLC), Humanitarian Service award, and Parachutist Badge.
