Army Senior Logistician Visits Anaconda

LSA ANACONDA, BALAD, Iraq — The commanding general of the Army Material Command arrived here August 13 for a series of meetings with Anaconda-based logisticians.

Gen. Paul J. Kern visited with leaders of the 7th Transportation Battalion then checked on AMC soldiers and civilians working in the Small Arms Support and Humvee Support Centers.

"I am tremendously proud of what the troops are doing here," said Kern, praising the skill and efforts of service members and civilian employees alike.

The 7th Trans. Bn., from Fort Bragg, N.C., provides transportation, cargo transfer and maintenance support to multi-national forces throughout Iraq.

AMC is the Army's principal materiel developer. Its missions include the development of weapon systems, advanced research on future technologies, and maintenance and distribution of spare parts and equipment.
