13th COSCOM HHC Change of Command

13th Corps Support Command Headquarters and Headquarters Company underwent a change of command ceremony on the 13th COSCOM guidon field here Friday.
Capt. Natasha Jones, who was commissioned into the Transportation Corps in 1998, succeeds Capt. DeAnn Aparicio in command of the HHC.
A native of New Orleans, Jones is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Jones is an experienced commander, having served as commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 13th Corps Support Battalion, 36th Engineer Group. She deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and II, earning the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal as well as the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
The new commander assumes responsibility of a unit that has distinguished itself throughout the years. Activated in June of 1943, 13th COSCOM's Soldiers have participated in several campaigns. During World War II, the COSCOM lent its Soldiers to campaigns in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe. COSCOM Soldiers also participated in the Defense of Saudi Arabia, Liberation and Defense of Kuwait, Operation Enduring Freedom and, most recently, Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
Participation in these campaigns earned the unit the Army Superior Unit Award for Desert Shield/Storm and the Army Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation for Operation Restore Hope.
