Soldiers of the 62nd Engineer Battalion participated in phase II of a volunteer project at St. Joseph's School in Killeen Saturday.

The Soldiers began construction of a new playground for the children of St. Joseph's early Saturday morning.

"I think it's great that Soldiers will volunteer their time on a Saturday morning," said Capt. David W. Peters, chaplain of the 62nd, who worked alongside his fellow Soldiers with Lt. Col. John Boule, commander of the engineers.

The new playground will provide a safer, more aesthetically pleasing area for the students of St. Joseph's to play.

Phase I of the project was tearing down the old equipment.
