The Headquarters and Headquarters Company team edged the 565th Quartermaster Company team 19-14 in the first of two 13th Corps Support Command Turkey Bowl games held Nov. 23 at Hood Stadium.

HHC secured victory as time expired when HHC quarterback Jomo Washington shoveled a 3-yard pass to tight end Jaquelin Ong.

The HHC running backs managed to just barely crack the century mark, with a clock-controlling 100 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.

565 quarterback, Kenneth Sims piled on the passing yards with 187, including a high-arching 64-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver, Van Nickerson.

HHCs defense accounted for a lot of big stops, including a 4th and goal stop on the opening drive of the game.

HHC wide receiver, David Green had 65 yards receiving and a key interception on the other side of the ball.

In a losing effort, Nickerson put up some stellar numbers, grabbing 5 receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Like HHCs top receiver, Nickerson also grabbed a pick while playing defense.
