36th Medical Evacuation Battalion Change Of Responsibility

Soldiers of the 36th Medical Evacuation Battalion, 1st Medical Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (expeditionary), welcomed a new command sergeant major in a ceremony at the SC(E) Guidon Field here April, 18.
Command Sgt. Maj. Gloria M. Riley will be taking the reins from Command Sgt. Maj. Brian A. Fahl as the 36th's command sergeant major.
Fahl deployed with the 36th in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His next assignment will be at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, where he will be serving as the command sergeant major for the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity - Alaska.
Riley has served as an instructor at the Army Medical Department School, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, as a battalion operations sergeant, 16th Medical Logistics Battalion, Camp Carroll, Korea, as a First Sergeant for Bravo Company, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, Texas, and a First Sergeant for Bravo Company, 31st Combat Support Hospital in b0oth Fort Bliss, Texas, and Baghdad.
Riley has a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from San Francisco State University, and a masters of business administration in human resources development from Webster University. She is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 53, and the Command Sergeants Major Course, Class 06-04.
Riley's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Expert Field Medic Badge. Riley is also a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, the Army Air Defense Artillery Order of Saint Barbara, and the Order of Military Medical Merit.
