13th SC(E) Issues Quarterly Awards, Honors MRX Standouts and Combat Vet

The 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) held a ceremony at Howze Theater here January 29 to reward Soldiers and one civilian for their contributions to the SC(E) covering April through June.

The SC(E) Soldier of the quarter was Spc. James Frisk, a test measurement and diagnostic equipment specialist with the 263rd Maintenance Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, 64th Corps Support Group, 13th SC(E). The Noncommissioned Officer of the quarter was Sgt. Ryan Morgan, base team NCO, also with the 263rd.

Taking the food service cook of the quarter honors was Pfc. Solomon Guyton, a food service specialist with the 44th Chemical Company, 2nd Chemical Battalion, 64th CSG, 13th SC(E). The food service NCO of the quarter was Sgt. Charles Williams with the 546th Area Support Medical Company, 1st Medical Brigade, 13th SC(E).

The 4th Corps Materiel Management Center was honored as the Distinguished Quartermaster Unit of the Regiment. Brig. Gen. Michael J. Terry, commanding general of the 13th SC(E), affixed a streamer to the unit's guidon commemorating the award.

Cpt. Christel Leadford, deputy G-2 of the SC(E) was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for her part in the SC(E) pre-deployment site survey to Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Artelia Thomas, NCOIC of the SC(E) G-8 office, Cpl. Rosy Hart, temporary duty NCO of the G-8 office, and Spc. Brett Ramnarine, a budget clerk in the G-8 office, were each awarded the Army Achievement Medal for their roles in the successful end of year financial closeout.

Terry personally pinned the Combat Action Badge on Spc. Tyrone A. Myers, an administrative clerk in the SC(E) G-1 office, for being actively engaged with the enemy during his last deployment with the SC(E) in April, 2004.

The SC(E) also honored Darin Lacuente, from the USO, for his support in supplying all deploying Soldiers from the Sustainment Command with deployment care packages featuring $50 Army and Air Force Exchange Service gift cards and 100 minute phone cards.

Terry presented five Soldiers from the SC(E) G-6 office with commander's coins of excellence for the parts they played in the SC(E) mission rehearsal exercise in June.
