565th QM Returns From Iraq

FORT HOOD — Approximately 100 Soldiers from the 565th Quartermaster Company returned from Iraq Saturday and were received by family members and friends in a redeployment ceremony held at Kieshnick Physical Fitness Center here.
The 565th Quartermaster Company, Special Troops Battalion, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) returned from Camp Adder, Iraq where they provided combat logistics patrols support.
Deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for a little more than a year, the families and friends present at the ceremony were overjoyed to see their loved ones return home.
“I am extremely proud of [the Soldiers],” said Angel Moldonado Sr., who made the trip from Orlando, Fl. with his wife to greet their son, Sgt. Angel Moldonado Jr., a truck driver with 565thQuartermaster Co.
The elder Moldonado surprised his son, who was only expecting his wife and two children, said Moldonado Jr.
“I did not know [my parents] going to show up,” said Moldonado Jr.
Moldonado said he was happy to be home after a long year and a tough mission.
“It was a long year and a tough road to travel,” said Moldonado. “I’m glad we were able to accomplish our mission and get back home safe,” he said.
The 565th Quartermaster Co. returns home nearly a month after its higher headquarters, the 13th SC (E) headquarters unit, redeployed home from OIF.
