FORT HOOD, Texas - As winter in Texas was just starting to set in the leaders of 2-20 Field Artillery
Battalion lead the way in becoming certified leaders. Over a fourteen mile course each competitor with
over 65 pounds in their bag marched through a grueling lane driven route. This pushed everyone to their
limits as every few miles the competitors stopped to conduct missions from proper throwing of hand grenades,
disassembling and reassembling weapon systems, and conducting first aid on wounded Soldiers. Each of the
twelve events was graded and the course ended with a PT test to really drive home that the leaders of the
Deep Strike Battalion never quit. Each leader that passed the course earned the Command Sergeant Major’s belt buckle.
