Section 508 - Specific
In accordance with Section 508, the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (aka the "Access Board") has issued a set of 16 standards to which Federal web sites must comply, for the purpose of making these web sites accessible to persons with seeing, hearing, or other physical impairments. Final standards were issued on 21 Dec 00, 36 CFR Part 1194.22 being the section relating to web-based applications specifically. Click on the following link for a full treatment of the Federal Access Board's standards.
