Lieutenant Colonel Davis

Lieutenant Colonel Paul R. Davis assumes command as the 16th Commander of the Regimental Support Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment. LTC Davis was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps upon graduation from Shippensburg University in 1998. He has served in a myriad of assignments throughout his 18 years of service. LTC Davis was first assigned as a platoon leader in the 602d Aviation Support Battalion, 2nd Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (2ID), South Korea.

Following his tour with the 2nd Infantry Division, LTC Davis joined the mighty 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY serving as a platoon leader in the 710th Main Support Battalion. He then served in the 10th Mountain Division G4 staff in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and then as the battalion adjutant for the 548th Corps Support Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After attending the Captain’s Career Course, LTC Davis joined the 10th Mountain Division’s 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team at Folk Polk, LA. He commanded B Co, 94th Brigade Support Battalion and then commanded HHC TF 94th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th IBCT in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his tour with the 10th Mountain Division, he served as an observer/controller with Operations Group, Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, LA.

Following his assignments at Fort Polk, LTC Davis joined the 1st Armored Division G4 staff in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, KS in 2012 and then rejoined the mighty 2nd Infantry Division serving in assignments such as the Deputy G-4 on the 2nd Infantry Division (2ID) staff, Support Operations Officer for the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team (1ABCT) and then as the Battalion Executive Officer for the 302d Brigade Support Battalion, 1ABCT, 2ID. Prior to assuming command, LTC Davis served as the Chief of Operations for the Enabling Command, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, United Kingdom.

LTC Davis’ degrees and education include: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice from Shippensburg University (1998); Masters of Arts and Science in Procurement and Acquisitions Management from Webster University (2012).

LTC Davis’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
