Lieutenant Colonel Park

LTC Kent W. Park is a 1999 graduate of the United States Military Academy. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and commissioned as an Infantry Officer. His first duty assignment was in the Republic of Korea where he served as a Bradley Platoon Leader and Scout Platoon Leader with 2-9 Infantry Battalion. After his Platoon Leader time, LTC Park was assigned to 8th U.S. Army as a staff officer in G5 – Civil Affairs section. Following his assignment in Korea, LTC Park graduated from the Infantry Maneuver Captain’s Course and was assigned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska where he served as Battalion S4, Battalion Plans Officer, and Charlie Company Commander with 2-1 Infantry Battalion, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. During this time, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and spent part of the deployment attached to 7-10 Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. Upon redeployment, his unit reflagged to Charlie Company, 1-24 Infantry Battalion, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (SBCT). After completing his Company Command time, LTC Park attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and earned a Mater in Public Policy before returning to the United States Military Academy to teach American Politics in the Department of Social Sciences. After his teaching assignment, LTC Park was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord where he served as Battalion S3 with 1-23 Infantry Battalion and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning, LTC Park continued to serve with 1-23 Infantry Battalion as the XO before assuming the Brigade S3 duties with 3-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Afterwards, LTC Park moved up to 7th Infantry Division as the Chief of Current Operations. Most recently, he was the Speechwriter and acting Director of Commander’s Action Group for the Commanding General of U.S. Army Pacific at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

LTC Kent Park has a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from the United States Military Academy and a Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is also a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Maneuver Captain’s Course, Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger, Bradley Leader’s Course, Cavalry Leader’s Course, and the Army Command and General Staff College.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal, Expert Infantrymen’s Badge, and the Combat Infantrymen’s Badge.
