Tiger Squadron LTC


Lieutenant Colonel Rowland

LTC Dave Rowland graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. LTC Rowland commissioned as an Infantry Second Lieutenant in 1999.

Following the standard courses for an Infantry 2LT, LTC Rowland reported to 1st Battalion, 503d Infantry (ABN). LTC Rowland served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Battalion S1.

LTC Rowland then reported to 1st Ranger Battalion where he served as a Ranger Platoon Leader and Battalion S5. Upon completion of the Infantry CCC, LTC Rowland reported to 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry (ABN). LTC Rowland served as the AS3, Able Company Commander and HHC/173d Commander. Following service in Italy, LTC Rowland attended graduate school at Georgetown University and briefly served as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army.

Following graduation from CGSC in 2011, LTC Rowland reported to 4-9 Infantry (Stryker) where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer from 2011-2013. LTC Rowland then served as the Brigade Executive Officer of the 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade from 2013-2014. LTC Rowland served as the aide-de-camp to the Commander, United States Army Special Operations Command from 2014-2015. LTC Rowland’s most recent assignment was with Joint Special Operations Command. LTC Rowland has numerous deployments to the CENTCOM AOR in various staff and command positions.

LTC Rowland’s awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Basic Parachutist Wings, Jumpmaster Wings, Military Freefall Wings, Air Assault Wings, and the Ranger Tab.
