Regimental Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Adam S. Nash XXII Regimental Command Sergeant Major, 3d Cavalry Regiment .

Command Sergeant Major Adam Nash is a native of Bangor, Maine. Following his graduation from Barnstable High School, he enlisted into the Army as an 11B Infantryman from Hyannis, Massachusetts, Aug. 18, 1995.

Upon entering the Army, CSM Nash attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, followed by Airborne School and the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program. He was then assigned to Company C, 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment where he served as a Grenadier through Squad Leader at Fort Benning.

In 2002, CSM Nash remained at Fort Benning and was reassigned as an instructor at the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters. In 2004, after serving as an instructor, he was assigned to Company B, 3rd Ranger Battalion as a Platoon Sergeant. In 2006, CSM Nash was again assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters, this time as the Liaison NCO and then Headquarters and Headquarters Company 1SG.

Following his assignments at Fort Benning, CSM Nash reported to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia, where he served in the 1st Ranger Battalion from 2009 until 2015 as the Company A and HHC 1SG, and the Battalion Operations Sergeant Major. In 2015, CSM Nash was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where he served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 2nd Ranger Battalion.

Command Sergeant Major Nash is a graduate of Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Ranger School, Special Operations Tactics Course, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course and the Joint Special Operations Senior Enlisted Academy Class 10. He has also earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Excelsior College.

His awards and decorations are commensurate with his time in service and positions held. CSM Nash has deployed 15 times in support of overseas contingency operations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
