LTC Moehlenbrock

 
     
 

 

 

LTC Charlie Moehlenbrock graduated from Clemson University and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Armor in 1995.  His first assignment was with the 3d Squadron, 7th Cavalry at Fort Stewart, Georgia where he served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, Troop Executive Officer, and Squadron Maintenance Officer.

 

Following the Advanced Course, he served as an Assistant Operations Officer at Fort Hood, Texas with the Ironhorse Brigade Staff and commanded C Company and Headquarters / Headquarters Company of 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry.

 

LTC Moehlenbrock then served as a Planner on the Lizard Team and an Observer/Controller for the Cobra Team, Operations Group, National Training Center of Fort Irwin, California.

 

He then deployed to Afghanistan from 2006-2007 and served as the Forward Support Team Operations Officer for the Rapid Equipping Force (REF) in support of Combined Joint Task Force – 76. 

 

Upon completion from the US Army Command and General Staff College he was assigned to the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, at Fort Hood, Texas where he served as the Executive Officer for 1st Squadron and as the Regimental Operations Officer. He deployed with the Regiment in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 and Operation New Dawn.

 

His most recent assignment was with the USAFRICOM Liaison Office in Washington D.C. where he served as USAFRICOM’s Military Advisor to USAID.

 

LTC Moehlenbrock’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), the Iraq Campaign Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.  He also wears the  Parachutist Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
