CPT Brown


CPT Conrad C. Brown earned his commission from the United States Military Academy as an Armor Officer in 2006. After graduating from the Armor Officer Basic Course, his first assignment was as a Bradley Fire Support Officer in Regulator Battery, 3rd Squadron, 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment before serving as a Scout Platoon Leader in Lightning Troop. While serving as a Scout Platoon Leader, he deployed to Mosul, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09. Following redeployment, he attended the Infantry Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Georgia before returning to the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, this time to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer for 1st Squadron prior to and during its deployment to Babil Province in support of Operation New Dawn 10-11. CPT Brown assumed command of Crazyhorse Troop on 4 June 2011 at Patrol Base Hamiyah, leading the Troop through its final months of the deployment before redeploying to Fort Hood and beginning the transition to a Stryker-equipped Infantry Troop in the 3d U.S. Cavalry Regiment. CPT Brown then served as an Infantry Troop Commander until October 2012, when he relinquished command of Crazyhorse Troop. CPT Brown then assumed command of Remington Troop on 13 February 2013.


CPT Brown has attended the Armor Officer Basic Course, The Infantry Captains Career Course, the Air Assault Course, and the Pathfinder Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelors of Science in Leadership and Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point. His awards and decorations include the Combat Action Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Pathfinder Badge, the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal with 3 Campaign Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Valorous Unit Award.
