Lieutenant Colonel Michelle K. Donahue graduated from Duke University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.  A Distinguished Military Graduate of the Army ROTC program, she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps.  

 

LTC Donahue has been assigned to the 1st Infantry Division (Kitzingen, Germany), the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Command (Fort Bragg, North Carolina), and 593rd Sustainment Brigade (Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington).  Her assignments at the tactical level include: Supply and Services Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, Battalion and Brigade S1, Battalion S2/S3, Battalion S4, Battalion Support Operations Officer, and Battalion Executive Officer.  LTC Donahue deployed to Jordan in 2003 as the Battalion S2/S3 with the 528th Special Operations Support Battalion (Airborne).  In 2009, she deployed to Iraq as the Battalion Support Operations Officer with the 80th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (15th Sustainment Brigade) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

 

In 2005, LTC Donahue was selected to represent the Army at the strategic level as a Joint Chiefs of Staff Intern at the Pentagon.  The following year, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Policy Management degree and served her utilization tour as a Deputy Legislative Assistant in the Office of the 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  She was then assigned to the Army Staff as a Strategic Planner for the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics.  During LTC Donahue’s most recent assignment to the Pentagon, she served as a Special Assistant to the 37th Chief of Staff of the Army and the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

 

LTC Donahue is an honor graduate of the Quartermaster Basic Course and Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course.  She is also a graduate of the Combined Arms and Services Staff School and Command and General Staff College.  Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (with four oak leaf clusters), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Pathfinder Badge, the Parachute Rigger Badge, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge and the Army Staff Badge.
