Command Sergeants Major Kenneth J. Oliver is a native of Galveston Texas. He entered the United States Army on August 28, 1990. CSM Oliver completed one station unit training at Fort Sill Oklahoma as a Multiple Launch Rocket System Crewmember (13M).

 

CSM Oliver has served in every enlisted leadership position in the Field Artillery starting from driver, gunner, section chief, MLRS Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant and Command Sergeants Major. His assignments include

 A Battery, 6th Battalion-37th Field Artillery, Camp Essayons, Korea; B Battery, 6th Field Artillery, Ft Riley, Kansas, MLRS Section Chief,  C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 4th FA, Ft Sill Oklahoma.  He served as a Basic Combat Training Drill Sergeant at Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 19th FA Fort Sill, OK and Senior Drill Sergeant of Echo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 80th FA Fort Sill, OK, 1st Battalion 14th FA Fort Sill, OK Platoon Sergeant, Battery First Sergeant, Senior Military of Science Instructor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Command Sergeants Major 2nd Battalion 4th FA Fort Sill, OK.  CSM Oliver deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom 03-03, and OIF 06-08.

 

Military Education: includes all levels of the Non-Commissioned Officers Education System, to include graduate of United States Army Sergeant Major Academy Class 60, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness School, Equal Opportunity Representative Course, Field Sanitation Team Training Course, Logistics Team Training Course, The Computer Security Course, Transportation Training Course and the Combat Lifesaver Course. 

 

Civilian Education: Holds an Associate in Applied Science Administrative/Management Degree with Excelsior College.  He served as President of the prestigious Ft. Sill OK, Red Leg Chapter Sergeant Audie Murphy Club from October 03 – September 04.

 

Awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (third award), Army Commendation Medal (fifth award), Army Achievement Medal (fourth award), Good Conduct Medal (sixth award), National Defense Service Medal (2ndaward), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon Numeral (4), Overseas Service Ribbon (2), The Drill Sergeant Badge, and The Driver’s Badge (wheel and track).

 

 Family: CSM Oliver resides in Killeen Texas and has three children, Kenneth Jr, Kayla and Keanna.
