CSM Leach

Command Sergeant Major Micheal L. Leach is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army in May 1988 as a 16S Stinger Crewmember. He currently serves as the Command Sergeant Major, for the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, TX

CSM Leach has served in a variety of positions including: Brigade Command Sergeant Major 108th ADA BDE, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Battalion CSM and Battalion S3 SGM, 1-7 ADA, Fort Bragg, NC; Brigade CSM and Brigade S2/S3 SGM, 35th ADA Brigade, Osan Airbase, ROK; Air Defense First Sergeant, Observer Controller, JRTC, Fort Polk, Louisiana; First Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, and Squad Leader, Delta Battery, 3-4 ADAR (ABN), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Observer Controller, JRTC, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Squad Leader, Delta Battery, 1-4 ADA, McCulley Barracks, Germany; Team Chief, Alpha Battery 3-4 ADAR (ABN), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Squad Leader, Bravo Battery 5-3 ADA, Fort Carson, Colorado; and Stinger Squad Leader/Gunner , Charlie 4-1 ADA (Hawk), Shonborn, Germany.

CSM Leach’s military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course (WLC), the Basic and Advanced Non Commissioned Officers Courses, Battle Staff Non Commissioned Officers Course, Air Assault School, Basic Airborne School, and The United States Army Jumpmaster School. CSM Leach is a graduate of The United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 58 and the Command Sergeants Major Course Class 12-03.

CSM Leach’s civilian education includes an Associates Degree from Central Texas College. He is currently completing an Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management through Trident International University.

CSM Leach’s Military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (6OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (8OLC), the Combat Action Badge, the Master Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the German Master Parachutist Badge. CSM Leach is also an Ordained Minister.
