Command Sergeant Major Antonio Dunston

Command Sergeant Major Antonio Dunston was born in Springhope, North Carolina and entered the Army in June 1986. He attended Basic Training at FT Sill, Oklahoma Field Artillery Training Center and graduated as a 13B Canonneer. CSM Dunston's most recent assignment was the BDE CSM for the 2nd HBCT, 1AD, “THE IRON BRIGADE,” FT Bliss, TX and has served as 5th Brigade, 1AD Brigade Combat Team CSM, AETF Fires Battalion CSM, both at FT Bliss, TX. SGM for the Fire Support Test Directorate, FT Sill, OK, First Sergeant 41st FA, 1BDE 3D Infantry Division FT Stewart, GA, Operations Sergeant 1BDE 3D Infantry Division FT Stewart, GA, First Sergeant 38th FA, 2D Infantry Division, Korea.

 

CSM Dunston has served in all field artillery leadership positions from Howitzer Chief of Section to Brigade CSM.

 

CSM Dunston’s military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, the Battle Staff NCO Course, Drill Sergeant School, NTC O/C Course, and Test and Evaluation Basic Course.

 

CSM Dunston’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1st OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (5th OLC), Army Commendation Medal (7th OLC), Army Achievement Medal (11th OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th OLC), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asian Service Medal (2BSS), Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Number 4), Army Service Ribbon, Oversees Service Ribbon (Number 4), Meritorious Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Saudi Arabia Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Presidential Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and the German Marksmanship Badge (Bronze). CSM Dunston holds the Ancient Order of Saint Barbara, and the covenant Spur, and is an active member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

 

CSM Dunston is married and has 3 children.
