CPT_Phillips.jpg CPT Erix Shane Phillips

CPT Erix Shane Phillips enlisted in the United States Army in February, 1997 and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC. He then completed Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, GA before being assigned to Fort Belvoir, VA as a Signal Specialist. While at Fort Belvoir, VA, CPT Phillips attended George Mason University as a Green to Gold Scholarship recipient and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004 as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a degree in Management Information Systems. Upon commissioning, CPT Phillips attended the Ordnance Officer Basic Course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Following completion of the basic course, he was assigned to Ft. Polk, LA where he served in a variety of positions. After a brief period as the GSE platoon leader in the 546th Maintenance Company, CPT Phillips deployed to Mosul, Iraq in 2005 as part of the 142nd Corps Support Battalion staff for 12 months. While in Iraq, CPT Phillips served as the assistant S3 and as a convoy platoon leader. Upon redeployment, he was assigned as the executive officer for 602nd Transportation Company at Ft. Polk, LA. In October 2007, CPT Phillips again deployed as part of the now modular 142nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion as the Support Operations Transportation Officer.After serving 15 months in Tallil, Iraq, CPT Phillips attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (CLC3) at Ft. Lee, VA. CPT Phillips was then assigned to Ft. Hood, TX as the 4th Sustainment Brigade Materiel Management Officer (MMO).


CPT Phillips awards and decorations include the Bronze star with Oak Leaf Cluster; the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star device, the Iraqi Campaign Medal with two Bronze Star devices, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and a Meritorious Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster. CPT Phillips is married to Faith Marie Phillips and has two children, Shannon and Samuel.
