CPT Rusty Morris
Captain Rusty G. Morris, born in Sumter South Carolina, is a graduate of Winthrop University and received his commission from the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
He attended the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was assigned to the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, TX.
Captain Morris served as a Tank Platoon Leader and Scout Platoon Leader. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 to Mosul, Iraq and served as a Scout Platoon Leader and later as Troop Executive Officer. Upon redeployment, he was selected as aide-de-camp for the Deputy Commanding General- Canada for III Corps and Fort Hood, Texas.
Captain Morris attended the Military Intelligence Captain's Career Course at Fort Huachuca, AZ prior to arriving at the 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade and deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11 where he served as Brigade ANSF Development Officer and AfPak Border Planner. He is currently the Commander of Avenger Company, 163D Military Intelligence Battalion.
Captain Morris's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, Afghan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Order of St. George Black Medallion.
