Captain Abra R. Crosthwaite hails from Elsie, Michigan. CPT Crosthwaite graduated from The United States Military Academy, West Point, New York with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management. She commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on May 27, 2006 in the United States Army Ordnance Corps.
She was initially assigned in January 2007 to Bravo Company, 3D Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team at Fort Stewart, Georgia. She served as the Maintenance Control Officer for the 3d BSB and the Company Executive Officer for Bravo Company, 3D BSB. During this time she deployed to Ramadi, Iraq for a 15 month deployment. Upon return, she became the Company Executive Officer for Foxtrot Company, 2-7 Infantry Battalion, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team.
From June 2009 through June 2010, CPT Crosthwaite was assigned to the 61st Ordnance Brigade, Fort Lee, Virginia and served as the Aide to the Chief of Ordnance.
After completion of the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, CPT Crosthwaite reported to HHC, 589th Brigade Support Battalion, 41st Fires Brigade and served as the Support Operations Transportation Officer from January 2011 to September 2011.
CPT Crosthwaite is a graduate of BOLC II at Fort Benning, Georgia, the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, and the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course. Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Air Assault Badge.
