CSM Michael R. Brown

Command Sergeant Major Michael R. Brown enlisted into the Army on 5 April 1988. Attending Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas as a 16S (Stinger Crew Member). In 1992 he attended Avenger NET Training at Camp Stanton, Korea and was reclassified as 14S (Avenger Crewmember). CSM Brown’s Military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, the Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, Instructor Training Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class #61. Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Course, CSM Brown has earned an Associate of Computer Science Degree from Central Texas College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Excelsior University.

CSM Brown’s awards include the Bronze Star (2OLC) Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), National Defense Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal NATO Medal, NCO Professional Development Medal (4h Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (5th Award) and the Army Service Ribbon, Drivers Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, German Schutzenschnur (Silver), German Proficiency Badge (Silver), Meritorious Unit Commendation (1OLC), Superior Unit Award, and was inducted into the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club in March of 2001.
