Command Sergeant Major Darren R. Boruff was born in Kirkwood, Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Army in December 1993 and attended Military Police One Station Unit Training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. During his career, Command Sergeant Major Boruff served in a variety of positions to include: Team Leader, Squad Leader, Drill Sergeant, Small Group Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant and Operations Sergeant Major. Command Sergeant Major Boruff’s previous assignments include: HQ Company, Garrison, Fort Lee, Virginia; 2nd Military Police Company, Camp Howze, Korea; A Company , Special Troops Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; D Company, 795th Military Police Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; A Company, 701st Military Police Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; 127th Military Police Company, Hanau, Germany; 92D Military Police Company, Hanau, Germany; 54th Military Police Company, Fort Lewis, Washington; 170th Military Police Company, Fort Lewis, Washington; and the 93D Military Police Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas. His military education includes the Combat Lifesaver Course, Combatives Level 1 Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Special Reaction Team Training Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Basic Instructors Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, and Battle Staff Course. He is also a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 61) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts. Command Sergeant Major Boruff’s awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2 Service Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal , Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, NATO Medal (Afghanistan), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Drill Sergeant Badge, Combat Action Badge and Drivers Badge.
