LTC KusumotoLieutenant Colonel Dominic "Dom" Kusumoto was born in Tokyo, Japan, and was raised as an U.S. Army dependant. He enlisted into the Army in June 1993 as a Personal Record Specialist after graduating from the Wirtschafts-Akademie Schleswig-Holstein zur Kiel, Germany in 1992. After receiving his commission as a second lieutenant in the Infantry from the Officer Candidate School in 1995, Lt. Col.Kusumoto served as a Infantry Platoon Leader, Infantry Company Executive Officer, Brigade S3 Training Officer, Infantry Battalion S3 Air, Assistant G3 Operations Officer, Infantry Company Commander in 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany and Fort Riley, Kansas in support of IFOR (Bosnia), SFOR 1 and SFOR 4 (Bosnia), Task Force Hawk (Kosovo), and Operation Desert Spring (Kuwait).

Lt. Col. Kusumoto then attended Civil Affairs Training in 2002 and upon graduation was assigned to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne). While in the battalion, LTC Kusumoto's duty positions included Civil Affairs Team Leader and S5 for 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Arabian Peninsula (3 tours of duty), Assistant S3 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) and Commander E/96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Horn of Africa.

Lt. Col. Kusumoto then attended the U.S. Air Force Command and General Staff College and upon graduation deployed with 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division as the Brigade Civil Military Plans Officer S-9 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn in Ninewa Province. Upon redeployment, LTC Kusumoto was re-assigned to the 97th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) as the S3 Operations Officer in support of Special Operations Command Pacific and the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne) as the Civil Affairs Plans Team Chief / Brigade S8 Plans and Programs.

Lt. Col. Kusumoto's civilian education includes an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Maryland, Ausbildungs Eigungshein fur Gross.- und Aussenhandel, Diplom fur Gross.-und Ausenhandels Kaufmann, Berufsakademie Diploma in Business Administration from the Wirtschafts-Akademie Schleswig Holstein zur Kiel (Germany), and a Master Degree in Military Operations and Science from the Air University.

Lt. Col. Kusumoto's military education includes Personnel Records Specialist (MOS 75D), Officer Candidate School, Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle Commander's Course, Infantry Mortar Leader's Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne School, Armor Captain's Career Course, CAS3, Civil Affairs Qualification Course, Regional Studies Course (Africa), Special Operations Command Humanitarian Demining Course, Force Management Course, Capabilities Development Course, Department of State Provincial Reconstruction Course, USAID Post Disaster Reconstruction Course, Federal Emergency Management Agency Course and U.S. Air Force Command and General Staff College.

His military decorations includes the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaves Clusters, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with five Oak Leave Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and Parachutes Badge.

CSM RobertCommand Sergeant Major Ryan C. Robert, a native of Lafayette, LA, entered active duty on May 28, 1991 at Fort Benning, GA where he completed One Station Unit Training as an Infantryman.

CSM Robert’s Infantry assignments include 1st BN 503rd INF, Republic of Korea; 2nd BN 187th INF, Fort Campbell, KY; 1st BN 14th INF, Schofield Barracks, HI; 4th BN 31st INF, Fort Drum, NY; 1st BN, 75th RGR REGT, Hunter Army Airfield, GA. After reclassifying to Civil Affairs, he served in leadership positions from Team Sergeant to CSM. His Civil Affairs assignments include 96th Civil Affairs BN; 97th Civil Affairs BN; 98th Civil Affairs BN, Fort Bragg, NC; G9 Operations SGM, XVIII ABN Corps, Fort Bragg, NC. CSM Robert has deployed to or participated in multiple exercises and operations throughout: AFRICOM, CENTCOM, PACOM, and SOUTHCOM.

His Military Education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officers Education System and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. He is a graduate of Airborne; Jumpmaster; Air Assault; Ranger; SERE-C; and the Civil Affairs Qualification Course. CSM Robert also has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (Homeland Security concentration) from Excelsior College.
