MAJOR MICHAEL E. ASHFORD
Command Sergeant Major Michael E.
Ashford hails from Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Basic
Training and AIT at Fort McClellan, Alabama. CSM Ashford has held
various leadership positions to include Team Leader and Squad Leader
in the 385th Military Police Battalion and the 3rd Infantry
Division, Wurzburg Germany, Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant in
the 95th Military Police Battalion, Mannheim, Germany, First
Sergeant at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New
York, First Sergeant in the 25th Military Police Battalion, 25th
Infantry Division (Light) Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Brigade
Operations Sergeant Major, MP. BDE, Hawaii, Division Provost
Sergeant Major, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea, Battalion
Command Sergeant Major, 10th/91st Military Police Battalion, 10th
Mountain Division (Light), Ft. Drum, NY, TF Vigilant CSM, OEF
VI/VII, and TF Mountain Guardian CSM, USMA CST 07. CSM Ashford also
served as a Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant in the 787th
Military Police Battalion as well as a Senior Small Group Leader for
the Military Police Noncommissioned Officers Academy.
Command Sergeant Major Ashford has
attended numerous military and civilian schools to include Special
Reaction team, Drill Sergeant, Physical Security, Master Fitness,
Air Assault, First Sergeant’s Course and all NCOES courses to
include the Air force Senior Noncommissioned Officers Academy as
well as the PCC/CSMC. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration from Faulkner University in 1997, and his Master of
Science degree in Education and Counseling from Long Island
University in 2001.
Command Sergeant Major Ashford’s
military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal,
Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement
Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on
Terrorism Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia
BSS, Liberation of Kuwait Medal (Kuwait), Liberation of Kuwait Medal
(Saudi Arabia), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Noncommissioned Officer
Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Korean Defense Service
Ribbon, NATO Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Dill Sergeant Badge, Air
Assault Badge, Drivers Badge, the German Efficiency Badge, the
German Army Scheutzenschnur Weapons Qualification Badge (Bronze
Award), and the Bronze Marechaussee.
