Health and Wellness Banner
Health and Wellness: "According to the World Health Organization, "Health is more than the absence of disease. Health is a state of optimal well-being." Optimal well-being is a concept of health that goes beyond the curing of illness to one of achieving wellness. Many of us have been brought up to believe that our health depends solely on the quality of the healthcare we receive. The truth is, your health is your responsibility. You are the only person who can make the lifestyle decisions that contribute to your well-being. You are the one who must take the steps to preserve your health and promote your wellness. Only you have the power to create wellness for yourself. Your power lies in the choices you make every day on your own behalf. Your behavior and the choices you make in your life affect your health.  Make the best choice…start living a healthier life, now!

Fitness Banner

: "Regular physical activity substantially reduces the risk of dying of coronary heart disease, the nation's leading cause of death, and decreases the risk for stroke, colon cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It also helps to control weight; contributes to healthy bones, muscles, and joints; reduces falls among older adults; helps to relieve the pain of arthritis; reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression; and is associated with fewer hospitalizations, physician visits, and medications. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),"

“…Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness. Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important for it promises a reward in both this life and the next. This is true and everyone should accept it.” 1 Timothy 4:7-9 (NLT - First Edition)

Tobacco Cessation Banner

Tobacco Cessation: Tobacco use negatively impacts force readiness and the ability to accomplish the mission.  The short term impacts of tobacco use on readiness include increased numbers of sick call visits, decreased night vision, decreased hand-eye coordination, and reduced stamina. Among military personnel, it has also been linked with productivity loss, leaving work early, being late for work by 30 minutes or more, and working below normal performance level. Overall, smoking is one of the best predictors for training failure. Do something for yourself…quit today!
