The Fort Hood Construction Site Storm Water Inspection program inspects all construction activities on Fort Hood that are required to comply with the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) General Permit No. TXR150000 for the discharge of storm water from construction activities. The permit is required for all construction activities that disturb equal to or greater than one acre of land or less than one acre of land that is part of a larger common plan of development. For more information on the requirements of the general permit, please visit our construction storm water web page.

Construction Site Storm Water Training

In addition to inspecting construction sites, the Fort Hood Storm Water program also conducts educational training events for construction site operators, inspectors, and general workers. The training events cover topics such as the requirements of the general permit, how to write and implement a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and how to choose, install, and maintain best management practices (BMPs). For information on training events or to request a training event for your construction activity, please contact the storm water program at 287-9812 or 286-7997.

The Fort Hood Storm Water program offers an educational poster for construction activities on Fort Hood. The poster is free to all construction site operators conducting work on Fort Hood. The poster should be posted in the construction site office trailer and in public locations on the construction site where workers can view the information. To obtain copies of the “Maintain Your BMPs” poster, please contact the Fort Hood storm water program at 287-9812 or 286-7997. A copy of the poster can also be downloaded by clicking on the poster above.
