Brigade/Battalion Commanders on the appropriate command list prior to assuming command, or who are within one year of assuming command are given a Priority 1 on the wait list
Brigade/Battalion Command Sergeant Majors are also given a Priority 1 on the wait list. Soldiers falling in these categories are assigned to the first available quarters upon their arrival to Fort Hood
Applications for family housing may be submitted in advance.
