Quick Links: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
The GRE program is divided into two separately administered programs.
Part I- GRE General. The GRE General is available exclusively as a computer- based test (CBT) through National Testing Centers only. The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education System (DANTES) Test Centers are no longer authorized to administer the GRE General Examination. Registration and scheduling policies and procedures are contained in the GRE Information and Registration Bulletin (available at the Education Services Division , Building 33009) or on the GRE website www.gre.org/ or by calling 1-800-GRE-CALL (473-2255). Examinees are strongly encouraged to review this information prior to taking the GRE General CBT.
The GRE General Test measures skills not directly related to any specific field of study. It consists of verbal reasoning sections, quantitative sections and analytical sections. The GRE CBT also has an optional GRE Writing Assessment.

DANTES reimburses the eligible examinee after the administration of the GRE General. To determine the eligibility requirements and the procedures for requesting reimbursement for the GRE General, it is recommended that soldiers be seen by an Education Center counselor prior to testing. Prometrics Learning Technology Centers have an exclusive contract for the administration of these examinations. Prometrics Learning Technology Centers are located in Austin and Waco.
